Is WEC tax-exempt?

Make your check payable to "WEC International." Indicate your preference for the ministry of specific persons, projects or areas on a separate sheet of paper. Mail your contribution to WEC International, PO Box 1707, Fort Washington, PA 19034-8707, and you’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt in return.

Make a one-time donation or set up and manage regular giving online through a service provided by Good Shepherds Bank.

Click "Donate Online" on the top of this page.

Click on "One Time Payment" or "Repeating Payment."

Click on "Electronic Check" to have the gift withdrawn from your checking account, or
"Credit Card" to have your gift withdrawn from your credit card.

(Note that for credit card giving, the credit card companies deduct 4 - 20 % of every gift for their own fees. The electronic check giving has little or no deduction.)

If you use this online service to set up monthly gifts, you will first need to set up a userID, which will be the email address you give, and a password, Be sure to record them somewhere so you can be sure to log back on later to make changes. At any time in the future, if you want to make changes, such as the amount, or a new card or bank account, or even to cancel, you will need to log back in to do that. The bank won't allow us to make those changes for you if you set it up yourself online.

We can set up regular giving for you from either your bank account or your credit card. Done this way, you don't need to remember a log in and password; you just communicate with our office by letter, email or phone whenever you want a change. The fees are the same as for online giving.

Most banks offer this service where you set up with them, either in person or online, a regular gift which they send to us and deduct from your bank account. It is often free for you. We receive it as a check.

Be sure it is made payable to WEC International and includes a memo stating who, or which project, you would like the gifts to go towards.

Yes. Unfortunately, 3 - 20 % of each credit card gift is deducted by the credit card companies before they forward the gift to us. Generally speaking the percentage is highest for small gifts. A $10 credit card gift would have about $2 deducted; a $1000 credit card gift would have $30 - $40 deducted. Gifts by Electronic Check (direct withdrawal from a checking account, just like checks) have little or nothing deducted.

Our financial policy centers on a simple reliance on God to provide everything we need. We aim to base financial decisions on God's leading rather than fixed budgets and seemingly closed doors. (Matthew 6:33; Philippians 4:11-13, 19 and Matthew 28:19, 20)

  • They are the primary agents for completing Christ's commission.
  • They identify and prepare cross-cultural workers. Those who come from solid, active churches are generally best equipped to serve in cross-cultural settings.
  • They pray for their workers. Prayer opens doors, changes lives and establishes new churches through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our workers need adequate and informed prayer to be effective.
  • They support their missionaries financially as natural out workings of their partnerships with them in ministry.

Onsite WEC ministry teams determine a base support and start-up figure for each new member that includes items such as:

  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • Food
  • Communication
  • Utilities
  • Start-up & furlough
  • Ministry
  • Language study

Many agencies provide a package of benefits that typically includes medical and life insurance, a retirement strategy, and sometimes, children's education. We operate a bit differently. Like people who are self-employed, WEC members secure for themselves those medical and retirement strategies that best fit their particular situations. While we do not provide any of these benefits, we do give our members guidance and assistance in making decisions. Ultimately, the needs of all cross-cultural workers are met by God-prompted contributions from faithful support teams.

As they share their vision for the world with churches, small groups and individuals, God faithfully provides prayer and financial support teams for our missionaries. We do not make financial appeals. But we freely share our needs with those who ask.
